Today’s post is written by guest blogger, Reagan Noelle Aryee.
Hey Y’all, Its me Reagan Noelle, Daughter of Mom and Dad, Sister of Emily or as I like to call “Errraaah”.
I recently just celebrated my first birthday and let me tell you it was totes awesome. (Yeah, that’s how I talk.)
In the days leading up to my big day, Emily was REALLY excited. She kept talking about how HER friends were going to be here and how there was going to be a cake and balloons and how much fun she was going to have…at my party. Under different circumstances I might have been annoyed at how she was taking over my party, but then I realized I really don’t have any friends nor do I know what cake and balloons are. So, judging by her excitement things were about to get FABULOUS!
As the big day drew closer and closer I got so excited I could barely sleep at night…
HAHAHAHA. That’s a joke, I barely sleep at night already.
The day of my party arrives and Mom and Dad are busy cleaning and preparing. Their busyness and my lack of sleep from the night before makes me tired, so I take a nice long nap. When I wake up, there are people everywhere! There’s
my Emily’s friends and their Mommies and Daddies and some folks they call Grandma and Grandpa. The party is hopping and I was sleeping away! I thought this was MY party!
Mommy shows a little video with some super cute and super embarrassing pics of me with the soundtrack from Parenthood. She had just finished binge watching the entire series so the music was fresh in her brain.
After the video I watch everyone else eat snacks and drink juice. Neither of which I am allowed to have.
I thought this was MY party, but whatevs. I got some awesome packages in pretty paper and cool boxes so I play with those while “my” guests eat away at the tasty
store bought “home made” treats.
Then its the big moment. Time for cake! The short people are so excited about this cake. They know Mommy made it right?
They light the cake on fire and put it in front of me and sing. Things didn’t go very smoothly so they sing it three times. Man, am I special!
Mommy puts the fire out and tells me to go ahead and eat.
Uhhhh…I touch it.
But am I going to eat it. No. I prefer savory flavors over sweets. Perhaps Ill ask Mommy to make me a chicken pot pie for my next birthday.
All in all it was a fun day. Emily had A LOT of fun. Perhaps Ill invite MY friends to her birthday party…when I make some.
Happy Birthday to me.
Peace out cubbies,
