Party Planning has taken on a new life since the launch of Pinterest.
Waaaay back in December Emily was sitting next to me while I looked through Pinterest and she saw a picture of a rainbow cake.
From that point on she often talked about how her birthday is tomorrow and she is going to have a rainbow cake. Her birthday is in June.
So it was decided long ago that Emily’s birthday party was going to be rainbow themed all because she saw one pin on Pinterest. I’m just glad she didn’t see a cake in the shape of the Eiffel Tower or the Leaning Tower of Piza. Although I could probably make a cake lean with minimal effort. To be honest it probably would have just been My Little Pony themed since that is the current favorite in our household.
Now, I will say my bestie did a wonderful job decorating, but we did not get pictures of it!!! As a blogger this is practically the end of the world. I really REALLY had to keep myself in check when I discovered we didn’t have the kind of pics that I wanted of the party so that I could post them online.
I had to tell myself “The party was fun, it was a success, Emily and the kids had a great time. STOP IT!”
It happens. Its a weird balance living life and having a blog and keeping things in perspective. That’s another post for another time. In the mean time lets keep things light and rainbowy. 🙂
Okay, Here are some real pics.
We also had a face painting and a tattoo station. We played Freeze Dance and what is a party without having an impromptu performance of “Let It Go”?
If you follow me on Instagram you can see some pics of the party prep, like the gray layer of rainbow cake, the tees, the tulle and the tutus.
I was really worried about there being enough food and I worried if I was spending too much money. But then the Lord changed my perspective and I thought of it almost like a ministry and that I was feeding people (some of my friends brought food too, Thank You guys). I also prayed that the Lord would multiply the food and let me tell you we are still eating the leftovers. God is good and kind and cares. 🙂
My inclination was to jump into the next project. But really this week I have to work on all the things I neglected last week during the party planning process.
Then next week is the 4th of July, then the following week is Emily’s umbilical hernia surgery. (Pray for that if you think of it). Then its mid July and summer is almost over.
Why does summer have to go so fast.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a looksy.
