Do you have a little piece of baby clothing or blanket that you want to keep and remember forever, but it is currently sitting in a box someplace in storage?
I do. I have so many baby things (mostly clothes) that were my favorite little things the girls wore when they were so small. I am able to part with a lot of things to make space, but some things just seem too precious to let go.
One piece of baby memorabilia that I want to keep is a portion of this onsie. It was such a cute onsie and I cherish the memory with it. (If you read the story, you might be grossed out.) I promise you, the portion I kept had nothing undesirable on it.
Anyway, one thing you can do is sew it to a tee. Like this…
It was so easy and its a special way to remember baby-dom. The design was really cute too, not super babyish, you probably wouldn’t know this was part of baby clothing.
I don’t think you need a sewing machine for this DIY. I used mine, but you can hand sew it or use Heat n’ Bond as well I’m sure. I never tried it, but its on my crafty to-do list.
There isn’t too much explanation.
1) Cut the Onsie or Blanket or whatever.
2) Get a tee.
3) Place on tee with pins or whatever you fancy. (I don’t recommend staples).
4) Attach via sewing machine, needle and thread, Heat N Bond…
My sewing is still novice so there was a little puckering while sewing the “O”, but that’s my problem not yours.
If I can do it, You can do it better.
So update a tee and keep a piece of baby memories you can wear…that isnt gross 😉
